Meet the Staff

Paula Broutman, President

After a long career as a Catering Director in Chicago, Paula joined the family business in 2010. She started out helping the company with Sales & Marketing and in 2011 transitioned into the role of President of Performance Plus. In addition to her responsibilities at the company, Paula is very active in the Crossroads & Lakeshore Chambers of Commerce. Paula also serves as a board member for Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana. Paula is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington. Paula has been married to her husband, Jay for over 10 years and they have three children.

Michael Saks, Vice-President

Michael is the vice-president Performance Plus. He has been involved in the cleaning business for over 45 years. Michael also has had experience in a wide variety of other businesses over the years but his chief concern has always been janitorial service. Michael is also a graduate of Indiana University and attended the University of Chicago’s Graduate MBA program. In addition to his busy schedule he has been heavily involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Indiana over that last 20 years. In the past, Michael has also been involved as president of the Merrillville Rotary and the Crossroads (Merrillville) Chamber of Commerce. Michael has been married to his wife Sydney for over 45 years he has two children and six grandchildren.

Alan Saks, General Manager, Gary

Alan is the general manager of the Gary Operations of our company. A few years after Alan served in Vietnam he joined forces with his brother Michael and has remained with the company as part owner for over 35 years. Alan is known as the "go-to-guy". Being the first one in the door at 4:30 am and the last one out at 4:30 pm he is definitely considered the pulse of the daily Gary operation. Along with his busy schedule at work he found time to serve as a Rotarian for 14 years. Alan has been married for over 45 years to his wife Honora and has two children and four grandchildren.

Joan Wickstrom, Controller

Joan is the Controller and Office Manager of the accounting department of Peformance Plus. She has been in the accounting field for over 15 years with experience in both managerial and clerk positions. After putting herself through college part-time Joan graduated from Purdue University with highest distinction. Joan has been married to her husband John for over 10 years and has two sons that keep her busy at home.

Frank Wieczorek, Director of Sales & Marketing

Frank has been in the commercial cleaning industry for over 30 years. He started as a cleaning person/floor man and worked his way up through the ranks. He graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Business with a major in Marketing. His hobbies include reading, running, and camping, among others. Frank lives in South Bend with his lovely wife Dawn and his two step son Chris and Ryan.

Karen Udoltz, Quality Control, Gary

Karen is the quality control manager for the Gary Janitorial operations. She rejoined our company in August of 2005. Karen worked for the Gary operation as office manager for 10 years during the 90’s. In addition to her role in our Quality Control department, Karen wears many hats within the company, helping with human resources, client relations and employee training. She is the mother of one boy and two girls and the grandmother of two.

Rafael (Ralph) Diaz, Operations Manager, South Bend

Ralph has been with our company for over 10 years. He started as a part time cleaner and was promoted to Operations Manager in November 2013. He came on board in 2009 as supervisor of our South Bend floor crew. Ralph grew up in Chicago where he attended and graduated from Control Data Institute with an Associate Degree in Computer Science and also attended the University of Peurto Rico where he lived for 10 years with his wife, Lucy, of over 34 years. They have a son and daughter.

Betty Hannon, Operations Manager, Indianapolis

Betty has been a part of the Performance  Plus team, on and off, for many years.  Betty is a huge asset to our Indianapolis office.

Sharolyn Battle, Operations Manager, Gary

Sharolyn has been an asset to our company for over 9 years. In 2010 Sharolyn was promoted to Operations Manager of the Gary branch. With over 30 years of experience in the service industry, Sharolyn brings a wealth of knowledge to the job sites every day. She also used to volunteer at her grandmothers nursing home and her church. She is the mother of four children.

Dawn Wieczorek, Operations Manager, South Bend

Recently promoted to Assistant Operations Manager, Dawn has been one of the Supervisors of the South Bend office for over ten years.  Dawn has always been extremely dedicated to her employees and everyone around her. Dawn’s hobbies include writing poetry, reading and time with family. She is a wife and the mother of two sons and grandmother to one adorable grandson.

Rob Beckett, Window Division Manager

Rob has been part of the Performance Plus team for many years.  Having started out as a high rise window cleaner, Rob has extensive knowledge of the field.  In addition to putting a high priority on customer satisfaction, employee safety is one of Rob's main concerns.

Andrew Stearns, Payroll/HR Specialist

Andrew has been with Performance Plus since 2014 as a Payroll Specialist.  He spends his free time working with computers and technology, playing board games with friends and spending time with his family.  He has a passion for learning new things, craft beers and international cuisine.

Amanda Brown, Accounts Receivable

Amanda is one of the newer members of our team, but she has already proven to be a valuable asset to our organization. She is a Senior at Indiana University Northwest pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business. Amanda is also a member of the Habitat for Humanity group at IUN.  Amanda recently received an invitation to join IUN’s chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success. She is married and has a son named Mickey. She enjoys spending time with family going on small adventures like amusement parks and site seeing in the city. She also has 2 dogs, a golden retriever named Rizzo and a poodle named Sally.

Brittany Bennett, HR Specialist

Brittany is one of the newest members of our team, but she has proven to be a valuable asset to our organization.  She is currently working on her degree in Human Resources at Purdue University Northwest and has brought an extensive knowledge of HR to our company.  She spends her time outside of work with family and friends and volunteering with local youth organizations/causes.

Leslie Reyes, Customer Service Representative
